What counts as a billable query?
A billable query is any Person or Property request that returns a 2xx success or 4xx client error response. 429 rate limit and 5xx server error responses are not billable.
Usage is tracked monthly in Pacific Time (PT) and is available via the /v1/account/usage endpoint.
What are the API rate limits?
The Whitepages Pro API enforces rate limits to ensure reliable performance. If your integration exceeds the allowed rate, the API returns a 429 Too Many Requests response with retry details. 429 responses are not billable.
Rate limits vary by plan, and higher limits can be requested through support.
What happens if I exceed my monthly query limit?
If you exceed your monthly query limit, additional queries are billed at your plan's standard per-query rate. You can see each plan's rate in the pricing table (for example, the Pro plan bills overages at $0.20 per query, so 1,200 extra queries would cost 1,200 × $0.20 = $240).
If your usage regularly exceeds your included queries, you may want to upgrade to a higher tier or request a custom quote for volumes above 50,000 queries per month.
Do unused queries roll over to the next month?
No. Unused queries do not roll over. Each month's query allocation resets at the start of your billing cycle.
Can I upgrade, downgrade, or cancel my plan at any time?
Yes. You can adjust your plan tier at any time. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
All API plans are billed monthly on autopay. Any overage charges are added to your next month's invoice. For billing purposes, all API usage data is recorded, measured, and calculated in Pacific Time (PT).
